Q: When can I wash the top half of my face?
A: You can wash your eyelids a week after surgery.
Q: You mean I can splash water on my eyelids - or do you mean to keep my eyes closed in the shower and put my face under a stream of water?
A: You should try not to rub your eyes. In fact, when you take a shower, do so with your back to the water.
Q: But how do I wash my eyes, if I can't rub them?
A: We recommend you use a washcloth and clean
around the eyes.
Q: Well, can I wash my eyes with
distilled water?
A: It's not about the bacterial content in water. Too much moisture or water will create a suspension causing the flap to float.
Q: I found a dead mosquito on the outer corner of my left eyelid and I'm sorry to say I had to swab it away with a q-tip. Am I in any danger of going blind?
A: That's ok, but really try not to touch your eyes!
