If I could ask you anything, I would ask you what is your own story. You said today that Epileptic is your mother's story and that Babel is your father's story. They are both the stories of your family and you are clearly a part of them as the narrator and documentarian of the Beauchard history. We all have stories inside us that we need to tell, before we can move more deeply into our own experience. Yet, I wonder if the stories that are your story are the medieval histories where you do not appear as a character at all, the stories that inspire your deepest imaginings. I suspect that we share a similar melancholy - something that is mistaken by our lovers to be nostalgia. If only I could speak French.
