new haiku

stranded w/out nail
clippers, I resort to using
the kitchen shears

new gelato flavor
at the corner market,
small town pleasures

why must frozen
yogurt in Seattle taste sour
as normal yogurt?

wanting to reach through
the phone & pull him close
here next to me

nearly invisible:
the carrot yellow lotion
splattered on mustard walls

emotional eating
not just for boredom but
writer’s block too

panning for gold
in Durango, he sets up
his first business

dissed by Santa on
the Polar Express, he gets
into the Xmas spirit

leafing thru lit journals
I want to find something to
respond to; keep reading

after so many
sleepless nights, I’ve slept in
almost every bed
