In San Diego for Matt Shindell’s My Vocabulary on KSDT. Read poems for about an hour interspersed with songs from Broken Social Scene, David Bowie, and other great tunes selected by Michel Cazary. The radio station is on the old student center/campus of UCSD. I’d never been inside a radio station and the musical set-up was interesting – independent bands and labels, the more obscure the better, though I did spy some They Might Be Giants and The Swirlies and some old Pavement.
