Yesterday, a long lost childhood sweetheart, Israel David Wilkinson, tracked me down to Boston. Izz is married, living outside of Las Vegas, has 2 little girls and fights fires and rescues people desperately in need of being saved, you know, like people hanging off of the sides of cliffs. How appropriate that this should end up being his professional vocation.
It is always totally gratifying when someone goes to the effort to reach out and find you.
My 10 year highschool reunion is in a month, and I'm starting to get contemplative about what that whole experience will be like. K and I are flying into SoCal the day after Thanksgiving and my best friend Rochel is hosting a party at her house with her new husband. Well relatively new, newlyweds since September though together for 10 years. It will be fun to see who's married to who and who's gained weight or lost weight or who has kids or who is famous and did anyone else turn out to be an artist, etc. Sadder, will be to acknowledge those who have died. My dear friend John Emett from leukemia just last year, and Angelina Welsh, a budding actress in a car crash years ago. Doubtless, there will be others.
